world. Normative economics gives value judgments about things and tells us to
“What should have happened”. Consider the following statements.

India is the second largest populated country in the world.

fast. It must control its population.

phenomenon which is happening. This is a positive statement.

farmers to sell out their agricultural products at support price fixed by the

grains such as wheat, rice etc. adversely affects the farmers. They may loose
their interest in producing food grains. This may result in acute shortage of
food grains. Therefore, the system of support price is usually followed in case
of agricultural products. The system of support prices assures the farmers that
they will be able to sell their products at least at this price.
Here are some effective measures Indian
farmers can adopt to sell their agricultural products at the support price
fixed by the government:
